Adventures at Sea: Icon of the Sea Inagaral Sailing

Updated: Nov 12

In January 2024, I had the chance to embark on a voyage aboard the newly launched Royal Caribbean vessel, Icon of the Seas. Here is a brief overview of my experience and the amenities provided on the ship.

📅 Day 1: Arrival in Miami 🛬

After a smooth flight from Phoenix to Miami with American Airlines, I checked into the stylish Element Miami Brickell hotel, about a twenty minute Uber to the Port of Miami. The Element hotel was clean and stylish, a great option for families or long term stays. The evening was spent indulging in delectable cuisine at American Social, a local hotspot known for its lively ambiance and mouthwatering dishes.

🚢 Day 2: Setting Sail ⚓

The following day signaled the start of my cruise journey on the Icon of the Seas by Royal Caribbean International. Departing from Miami, I said goodbye to the cityscape and welcomed the thrill of the vast ocean.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed by a vibrant Pavilion brimming with music and excitement. Despite not being a fan of large crowds, we quickly made our way to the Central Park area. The beautifully landscaped gardens were truly remarkable, filled with lush greenery and calming tropical sounds. The entire area was decorated with living walls, flowers, and abundant foliage, dotted with cafes, bars, and restaurants. Outdoor tables and lounging spaces provided a peaceful setting to relax and enjoy the floating garden at sea. One of the highlights for me was the "Bubbles" walk-up spot. Our cabin, located centrally on the ship, had a view overlooking the garden. A large convertible window seamlessly connected the indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing for privacy at the push of a button. The ample storage space made it easy to store luggage and unpack for the days ahead.

🏝️ Day 3: Cococay Bliss 🌅

Waking up to the gentle swaying of the ship, I found myself at the idyllic port of call - Perfect Day Cococay in the Bahamas. From thrilling water activities to serene beach lounging, Cococay offered a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. The food on shore was a slight let down compaired to the ship but we only stopped at a small cafe and ate on the beach. The water was beautiful and refreshing with no shortage of spaces to lounge and enjoy your day.

⚓ Day 4: South Beach 🌅

After the cruise ended, I got off the Icon of the Seas in Miami and stayed at the lively Moxy Miami South Beach hotel. Located in the heart of South Beach, the Moxy had a tropical ambiance. With plenty of outdoor lounge spaces and strong coffee available, I spent the day exploring the bustling streets of Miami Beach and immersing myself in the lively atmosphere.

🛫 Day 5: Return to Phoenix 🛬

After a memorable stay in Miami, I boarded my return flight to Phoenix, filled with cherished memories of my Miami and Cococay adventure.
